This is the call we take most often in Oakland, and the explanation is always the same: the accident did not stop at the carpet. It went through the backing into the pad, and a surface clean rinses the top of something that is living underneath. Extraction reaches that layer. When urine has gone further still — into the subfloor — we say so, because that needs sealing and no amount of cleaning substitutes for it.
What decides whether a flooded carpet is worth keeping is how long it sat and what was in the water, not how bad it looks. Drying something that should be replaced is money spent twice, so we read moisture in the pad and the subfloor with a meter before committing to either — and you get told which of the two you are looking at before the work starts.
Every photograph on this site was taken on a job. Nothing is stock, and no “after” has been touched beyond cropping and resizing — an after that got prettier in software is not an after.

A photograph of the worst patch is the fastest route to a straight answer. If something is not going to lift, we would rather say so now than at the door.

Bob was great. He communicated clearly what the job would entail and was honest about what stains could not be 100% removed. Was happy with the service. The carpets looked brand new again!

There was a big difference in the living room rugs. Extraction brought out layers of dirt. Nearly invisible stains remain. Completely happy.

We used Carpet Cleaning Wizards to remove dog urine from a large area carpet. Jacob was timely in arrival, professional and friendly. He was efficient in taking care of the job and very pleasant while doing it. Would recommend this business.

It depends on the rooms, the stairs and what is on the floor. A split-level with a finished basement and a dog is not the same job as two bedrooms, so we quote it rather than publishing a number that would be wrong for most houses here. The estimate is free, written, and given before anyone is booked.
Call rather than using the form, and call early — this is the one job where hours change the outcome rather than the schedule. Caught in the first day or two, most carpet comes back with a new pad underneath it; left longer, the conversation turns from cleaning to mold and replacement. We answer the phone at any hour for exactly this.
Remove it, when the source is in the carpet or the pad — that is what extraction reaches and a surface clean does not. If the urine went through to the subfloor we will tell you, because that layer needs sealing and pretending otherwise just means you call somebody else in a month.
Carpet is walkable in about two hours and dry the same day. A basement takes longer if it has been wet, because drying stops when the materials read dry on a meter, not when the room looks finished.
