The plain answer

Carpet Cleaning Wizards does not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone for targeted advertising. We do not give it to data brokers, marketing lists or anyone who would use it for their own purposes. We have never done any of these things and we have no plans to.

This page exists because some websites are required to carry a link with this title, and because you deserve a straight answer about where we stand and a working way to tell us what you want, even though the laws that require this link do not apply to us. Both are below.

What "sell" and "share" mean

Privacy laws use these words in a specific way. To "sell" personal information means to hand it to another company in exchange for money or anything else of value. To "share" personal information means to give it to another company for targeted advertising, which is advertising chosen for you based on what you did on other websites and apps.

Sending your estimate request to our own email inbox, giving your address to the person driving our van, or letting our card reader process a payment is not selling or sharing. Those companies work for us, may use your information only to do the job we hired them for, and are not allowed to use it for anything else.

Which laws require this link, and whether they apply to us

California

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, requires a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link from businesses that do business in California and that have more than about 26 million dollars in annual revenue, or handle the personal information of 100,000 or more California residents or households a year, or earn half or more of their revenue from selling or sharing personal information. We are a local cleaning service in northern New Jersey. We do not meet any of these thresholds, and we do not serve customers in California. The California law does not apply to us.

New Jersey

The New Jersey Data Privacy Act, in force since January 15, 2025, gives New Jersey residents the right to opt out of the sale of their personal data, targeted advertising and certain profiling. It applies to businesses that control or process the personal data of at least 100,000 New Jersey consumers a year, or of at least 25,000 consumers while earning money or a discount from selling personal data. We serve a few thousand households, not a hundred thousand, and we sell no data. As of the effective date above the Act does not apply to us. New Jersey law also restricts the sale of sensitive personal data, such as health information, precise location or immigration status, by any business, covered by the Act or not. We sell no personal data of any kind, so we comply by doing what we already do.

Other states

Other states with similar laws (for example Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut) set thresholds like New Jersey's, and states such as Texas instead exempt small businesses as defined by the Small Business Administration, which includes a business of our size. We do not meet any of those thresholds and we do business only in New Jersey.

We tell you this honestly rather than hiding behind a link. If we ever grow to the point where one of these laws does apply, this page and our Privacy Policy will be rewritten to meet it before that day arrives.

What we do anyway

Even though no law requires it, you can ask us at any time to:

We will honor these requests within 45 days, we will not charge you for them, and we will never treat you differently for making one.

  • Confirm what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy.
  • Correct it.
  • Delete it, except for records we must keep by law, such as a paid invoice, which we will tell you about.
  • Stop any texts, calls or emails from us.
  • Turn off website analytics and session recording for your browser.
  • Remove a gallery photo of your home or a quote from your Google review.

How to tell us what you want

Choose whichever is easiest:

We will confirm that we received your request within two business days and answer within 45 days. If we need to check that you are the right person we will contact you at the phone number or email address already on your record. If we decline any part of a request we will explain why, and you can ask us to look again by replying to that answer.

You can also have someone make a request for you, for example a family member, if they can show they have your permission.

  • Email privacy@carpetcleaningwizards.com with the subject line "Privacy request" and tell us what you want done. Include the phone number or email address you used with us so that we can find your record.
  • Call (908) 545-9387 and say you have a privacy request. We will confirm it in writing.
  • Write to us at the mailing address below.

Website tracking choices

Our website sets no analytics cookie and no session recording cookie until you turn that category on in the consent banner. Both start off, and neither is used for advertising. You can reopen the banner at any time from the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, accept everything, refuse everything, or open Manage choices and take one category without the other. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie by name.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, please know that there is nothing on our website for it to switch off, because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising. If that ever changes, we will honor the signal.
