Netcong is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1894, with 3,375 residents at the 2020 census. Stanhope United Methodist Church ('The Church in the Glen'), NRHP-listed and Netcong train station are here. Originally settled as 'South Stanhope' by mining workers and took the name Netcong in 1889; grew around the Morris Canal (opened 1831) and later the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, whose last Morris County stop was in the borough. Separated from Mount Olive and Roxbury townships in 1894. Its motto is 'All Roads Lead to Netcong,' and it is used as a control city on New Jersey highway signage. It borders Mount Olive Township, Roxbury Township, Stanhope (Sussex County).
