Maywood is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1894, with 10,080 residents at the 2020 census. The borough is named after a New Jersey Midland Railroad station and was split off from Midland Township in the 1894 "Boroughitis" wave. The Stepan Company plant on the former Maywood Chemical Works site, a Superfund site, is the only commercial entity in the country licensed by the DEA to import coca leaves; its non-narcotic extract goes to Coca-Cola. It borders Hackensack, Lodi, Paramus, Rochelle Park.
