Marcal Paper Company plant, a landmark until fire destroyed it in January 2019 and Artesian Fields County Park are here. Locally it is read by its sections, Cherry Hill, Dundee Lake, Passaic Junction, Rosemont, and a job is quoted on the one you are in rather than on the town line. The area was known as Dundee Lake, part of Saddle River Township, until residents voted on April 18, 1916 to secede and form the Borough of East Paterson; the Rosemont section was annexed in 1917 and the borough was renamed Elmwood Park effective January 1, 1973. Marcal restarted paper manufacturing in January 2020, one year and one day after the fire that destroyed the mill. It borders Paterson, Clifton, Fair Lawn, Saddle Brook, Garfield.
