Ramsey is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1908, with 14,798 residents at the 2020 census. Elevation about 351 feet, ninth-highest of the county's 70 municipalities. Ramsey Main Street station and Old Stone House are here. Named for Peter J. Ramsey, a 19th-century landowner who sold the land that became the railroad stop "Ramsey's Station" in 1848; the Main Street station, built in 1868 by the Paterson and Ramapo Railroad, is the oldest operating passenger station in New Jersey. The borough was formed from Hohokus Township, annexed territory from Waldwick in 1921 and ceded land to Saddle River in 1925. It borders Allendale, Mahwah, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River.
