Wallington is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1894, with 11,868 residents at the 2020 census. Three bridges cross the Passaic to Passaic: Market Street (1894), Gregory Avenue (1905) and Eighth Street (1915). Wallington was the last of the 26 Bergen County boroughs created by an 1894 "Boroughitis" referendum, taken from Bergen Township and Saddle River Township, with sections ceded to Garfield in 1898. It is named for Walling Van Winkle (1650-1725), who built a house within the future borough. It borders Carlstadt, East Rutherford, Garfield, South Hackensack, Wood-Ridge.
