About our service in Washington
Washington is part of our Bergen County service area, and our technicians cover the whole municipality.
9,285 residents across 2.95 square miles, which in practice means a mix of housing rather than one kind, so the useful question when you call is what is on your floor, not what the town is like. We come to the property, there is no shop and nothing to drop off, and we book at any hour.
Washington is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1840, with 9,285 residents at the 2020 census. Washington Town Center and Seven Chimneys are here. Created in 1840 from Harrington Township at more than 30 square miles, the township shrank to about 3 square miles as Westwood, Park Ridge, Montvale, Woodcliff, Hillsdale, Emerson and River Vale split away between 1886 and 1906. It is one of five New Jersey municipalities named Washington Township and did not get its own ZIP code, 07676, until July 2000, having been served by the Westwood post office before that. It borders Emerson, Hillsdale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Paramus, Ridgewood.
The housing in Washington
Population rose dramatically in the decade after the Garden State Parkway was completed in the mid-1950s, indicating heavy postwar subdivision. 3,341 housing units at about 1,150 per square mile of land. Older stock brings staircases built before any machine made for them existed, so those treads are worked by hand either way.
Water damage in Washington
Sits in the Pascack Valley within the Hackensack River watershed, taking in Musquapsink Brook, Pascack Brook and Schlegel Lake. Elevation ranges from under 50 feet in wooded swampland to about 360 feet west of Van Emburgh Avenue, leaving it less flood-prone than the rest of the valley. Below-grade carpet is the surface most at risk in a wet year, because the pad holds water long after the face has dried.

Questions
Questions from Washington customers
Question 1: Do you cover Washington?
Yes. Washington is inside the normal Bergen County round, along with Emerson, Hillsdale, Ho-Ho-Kus. All services are performed at the property, and bookings are taken at any hour.
Question 2: How long does the appointment itself take?
That depends on the floor and its condition rather than on the address, so the time is agreed with the written estimate and not guessed at on the phone. However long the cleaning runs, a Washington carpet is walkable about two hours after we finish and dry the same day.
Question 3: Does the age of the houses in Washington change anything?
It changes the method. Population rose dramatically in the decade after the Garden State Parkway was completed in the mid-1950s, indicating heavy postwar subdivision, and a stock of that kind decides whether a floor wants controlled moisture and a dye test or a straightforward hot-water extraction. We identify the fibre before anything gets wet, every time.
Question 4: Water came into a Washington basement. What decides whether the carpet is saved?
Wet carpet has a clock on it. Clean water caught in the first day or two usually comes back with extraction, a new pad and structured drying, and water that stood longer usually does not. We measure the pad and the subfloor rather than trusting how the surface feels.

Jacob was the best. We had a pet accident that he took care of. He was quickly able to clean an area rug and honestly saved the day. Great work, will call again.

We used Carpet Cleaning Wizards to remove dog urine from a large area carpet. Jacob was timely in arrival, professional and friendly. He was efficient in taking care of the job and very pleasant while doing it. Would recommend this business.

There was a big difference in the living room rugs. Extraction brought out layers of dirt. Nearly invisible stains remain. Completely happy.
