Cranford is a township in Union County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1871, with 23,847 residents at the 2020 census. Cranford Canoe Club, built 1908 and Droeschers Mill, built 1737 on the Rahway River are here. Locally it is read by its sections, Indian Village, and a job is quoted on the one you are in rather than on the town line. Nicknamed "The Venice of New Jersey" for the Rahway River winding through it. Created in 1871 out of five surrounding townships; Garwood in 1903 and Kenilworth in 1907 were later taken from it. It borders Garwood, Westfield, Springfield, Kenilworth, Roselle.
