On the western slope of the Hudson Palisades, where Fairview Cemetery and Mount Moriah Cemetery are located. Fairview Cemetery and Mount Moriah Cemetery are here. Formed on December 19, 1894 from portions of Ridgefield Township during the "Boroughitis" phenomenon that produced 26 Bergen County boroughs in 1894 alone. At roughly 17,800 residents per square mile it ranks 12th of New Jersey's 565 municipalities and 2nd of 70 in the county for population density. It borders Cliffside Park, Ridgefield, North Bergen.
