Northvale is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1916, with 4,761 residents at the 2020 census. Haring-Blauvelt House and Northvale Public School are here. Northvale was formed in 1916 from the last remaining portions of Harrington Township, and its creation dissolved that township outright; in 1923 part of Northvale was taken to create Rockleigh. The name derives from the borough's northern location and its topography. It borders Norwood, Old Tappan, Rockleigh, Tappan, Orangetown.
