Norwood is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1905, with 5,641 residents at the 2020 census. Norwood Public School and site of the former Erie Railroad station are here. Locally it is read by its sections, West Norwood, and a job is quoted on the one you are in rather than on the town line. The land was settled around 1686 by a dozen or more families, mostly from the Dutch Republic, who bought it under the Tappan Patent; the name comes from the area's old description as the "North-Woods". Norwood seceded from Harrington Township in 1905 to become an independent borough. It borders Alpine, Closter, Harrington Park, Northvale, Old Tappan.
