Edwin Howard Armstrong built his FM tower and laboratory here after RCA evicted him from the Empire State Building; the 400-foot tower still carries broadcast and two-way radio users and served as a primary tower for New York stations after the September 11 attacks. It borders Closter, Cresskill, Demarest, Norwood, Rockleigh.
