Teaneck is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1895, with 41,246 residents at the 2020 census. Sits at the junction of Interstate 95 and the eastern terminus of Interstate 80, and is bisected by Route 4. Fairleigh Dickinson University Metropolitan Campus and Holy Name Medical Center are here. Locally it is read by its sections, New Bridge, West Englewood, and a job is quoted on the one you are in rather than on the town line. Teaneck was deliberately formed as a township rather than a borough in 1895 to address the concerns of Englewood Township's leaders during the county's borough craze. In 1965 it voluntarily integrated its public schools after the Board of Education approved a busing plan the previous year. It borders River Edge, Hackensack, New Milford, Bergenfield, Englewood.
