Bergenfield is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1894, with 28,321 residents at the 2020 census. Bergenfield High School and Franklin School are here. Created by referendum on June 25, 1894 from parts of Englewood Township and Palisades Township, during the "Boroughitis" wave, and named simply for its location in Bergen County. Prestige Records, a major jazz label founded in 1949, had its offices in the borough from the mid-1960s until its sale in 1972. It borders Cresskill, Dumont, Englewood, New Milford, Teaneck.
