Berkeley Heights is a township in Union County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1809, with 13,285 residents at the 2020 census. Sits partly on the crest of Second Watchung Mountain. Incorporated in 1809 as New Providence Township and renamed Berkeley Heights in 1951 to end confusion with the neighbouring borough. It was a farming and resort community until AT&T built Bell Laboratories there in 1941. It borders New Providence, Mountainside, Summit, Scotch Plains, Chatham.
