Tenafly is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1894, with 15,409 residents at the 2020 census. Tenafly Nature Center and Elizabeth Cady Stanton House are here. Tenafly was the first borough created in the 1894 "Boroughitis" wave that produced 26 new Bergen County boroughs in a single year, formed from the now-defunct Palisades Township. Elizabeth Cady Stanton lived on Highwood Avenue and unsuccessfully attempted to vote in the borough in 1880. It borders Alpine, Bergenfield, Cresskill, Englewood, Englewood Cliffs.
