On January 5, 1904 the temperature here fell to -34°F, the lowest ever recorded in New Jersey. A 1778 Revolutionary War mass grave from the Baylor Massacre was rediscovered in 1967 and became a county park dedicated in 1972. It borders Old Tappan, Montvale, Park Ridge, Woodcliff Lake, Hillsdale.
